Museums

As I stated in my previous blog, I have recently, and reluctantly, decided to leave the Western Australian Museum. However, I have stayed true to my word that I am still passionately following museums and collections.

A few weeks ago, I was asked why we sanitise locality details on specimens. I explained why. And just last week, I was asked again, so I explained. And just earlier today, I was asked what sanitising locality details meant.

I sensed a pattern.

Throughout my time at the WA Museum, one thing that I have always loved is the raw results of Apache Solr when unleashed on a new dataset.
